Kinematic Viscosity Baths – ASTM D445, D2170, D2171, D2532

Low Temperature Kinematic Viscosity Baths

Low Temperature Kinematic Viscosity Baths

All models conform to the most recent ASTM D445, D2170, D2171 and D2532 specifications using digital indicating PID temperature controller providing bath stability and uniformity of ±0.02°C. Models with cabinets are made of anodized aluminum frame and panels. A safety viewing window in front of the bath jar provides an insulating air space and protection against breakage. The jar is illuminated from the bottom by a fluorescent light for easy reading of the meniscus.

Lawler baths for low temperature kinematic viscosity conform to ASTM D445 and D2532 and related test method requirements for viscosity bath temperature stability and uniformity in the temperature range of from +15° to -75°C. A digital indicating PID temperature controller with 0.01°C resolution provides stability and uniformity of better than ±0.02°C as specified by ASTM D445 (when methyl alcohol or denatured ethyl alcohol are used as bath medium).

The bath jar is an evacuated, unsilvered Dewar flask. The jar is back-lit by a fluorescent light to facilitate reading of the meniscus in the viscometer tubes. A clear plastic viewing window protects the bath jar. Models have either 2 or 4 sample capacity.

Only ozone friendly, CFC and HCFC free refrigerant are used.

Model 77 is configured to accept 4 ea. 51 mm (2 inch) diameter holders. The 4 viscometer ports can be configured to any viscometer holder configuration, by special request. Model 77 temperature range is +15°C to -60°C.

Model 79 is identical to Model 77 but with the operating temperature range of +15° to -70°C.

Model 78 is identical to Model 77 but with the operating temperature range of +15ºC to -45ºC.

Model 79F is identical to Model 79 but with the additional configuration to accept 1 or 2 ASTM D2386 test glassware and stirrer (supplied separately) for performing freezing point of aviation fuels. Lowest operating temperature is -75°C.

Model 86-20 has a 305 mm (12 inch) cubed Pyrex jar is enclosed in a safety cabinet. The 7 test positions located near the front of the viewing window allow easy view of the viscometers. Temperature range is 20° to +150°C.

Model 86-17D has a protective plexyglass shield is supplied to reduce accidental contact by operator.
