Fully automated instruments for the measurement of cold filter plugging point (CFPP). Conforms to ASTM D6371, IP309, EN-116 and related test methods. Each test position of the instrument consists of the specified test tube with two spacers, pipette, brass filter holder assembly, metal test jacket.
Vacuum control provided by a two jar system exactly as specified by the test method, or an automated electronic vacuum control system, or by any existing system currently used for the manual testing.
When the test sample cools to the preselected temperature, the vacuum is automatically applied to the burette, the timer is started, and the vacuum is broken to release the sample back into the test tube in the cooling jacket. The test is repeated when the sample cools by 1°C. At the temperature at which the sample fails to fill (or empty) the pipette in 60 seconds the test is stopped, and the temperature is displayed as the result. All operations are controlled via a touch panel for display of sample temperature, bath temperature, and the CFPP result temperature.
Available in various combinations of test heads in a single unit for CFPP, Cloud, Pour, and Freeze Points. All positions are independent of each other.
Model DR4 series of chillers for cooling the automated analyzers uses the Lawler developed concept of direct refrigeration. The test cup (metal jacket) for cloud point, pour point, or CFPP is directly cooled by the refrigerant, thus replacing the middle step of first cooling the flammable alcohol and then pumping the cold alcohol to the test jacket. Offers the additional advantage of rapid cool down to test temperature within minutes versus hours with bulky floor model cryostat models. The automated analyzer is mounted on the same cabinet as the refrigeration system, thus saving valuable laboratory space. DR4 series coolers are available in 1 or 2 test positions with lowest temperature of either -34° or -70°C.
Model OL series are designed to work with an external alcohol chiller, either your own or supplied by Lawler. OL series units are available in 1, 2, 3, or 4 position units. Lawler offers two recirculating chiller models (MRCC-80 and MRCC-5) for use in conjunction with the OL analyzer.
Model MRCC-80 is a high capacity cryostat able to cool up to three Model OL series analyzer positions.
Its lowest operating temperature is -70°C.
Model MRCC-5 is a very high capacity cryostat able to cool up to six Model OL series analyzer positions.
Its lowest operating temperature is -70°C. This model has a 5 year guarantee against compressor failure.
