Model 420-4 is a heavily insulated agitated oil bath conforming to ASTM D6495, FTM791-5307, and FTM791-5308 test methods. It is sized to accommodate 4 test positions of the specified glassware. Mounted on the front of the cabinet are 4 flowmeters with precision control valves each delivering 10 ±1 L/hr of air to the test sample.

Temperature range of the bath is ambient to 150°C. A digital controller with 0.1°C resolution provides bath stability of ±0.3°C. Temperature uniformity of the bath is maintained to with 0.3°C. In the event of primary controller failure a redundant controller prevents overheating.

The bath is provided with a bottom bath drain to facilitate the exchange of the bath medium. A top of bath drain is also provided to contain accidental bath medium overflow. A float prevents operation of the bath with inadequate bath medium.

Mounted to the back of the cabinet are rods for support of the condensers, as well as a valve and manifolding for the control of condenser water.

The overall dimensions of Model 420-4 are 32 x 18 x 18 inches (lwh), (81 x 46 x 46 mm).

As an option, Model 420-4 can be equipped with 4 digital displays and RTD probes for the display of the individual sample temperatures.

Model 420-6 is similar to Model 420-4 but with capacity for 6 test positions.

Either model is available for 115, 208, or 230 volts, 50 or 60 Hz.
