Model 390-6 is a 6 test positions agitated liquid bath conforming to ASTM D665, D3603, NACE TM-01-72 and other similar tests. The two position bath cover adjusts for either ASTM D665 or D3603 test methods. A timer alerts the operator to method critical steps requering attention. The bath’s temperature is maintained by a microprocessor based PID controller with set point and bath temperature display. A secondary high temperature limit switch prevents over heating in the event of primary controller failure. In addition, a float switch interrupts power to the heaters in the event of low bath liquid level.

The stainless steel bath has drain for easy replacement of the bath medium. The test beakers rest on a perforated support rack at the test specified level.

The stainless steel stirrers’ speed is adjustable form 0 to 1500 rpm, are driven by a synchronous motor to assure exactly 1000 rpm speed. The individual stirrers are belt driven. A digital tachometer is provided displaying the rotational speed of the stirrers.

Mounted on the control panel is a power switch for turning the stirrers on and off without disturbing the power to the bath. Individual stirrers have the ability to be lifted out of the test beaker by simply loosening the knurled holding nut and lifting from the beaker. When lifted, the stirrer shaft protrudes through the top of the apparatus, allowing full and easy access to the test beaker.

A clear plastic safety guard is available as an option on the front of the apparatus protecting the operator from the rotating stirrer shafts.

Model 390-4 is identical to Model 390-6 but with only 4 test positions.

Model 396-4A is an aluminum dry bath with 4 positions. Each position is individually temperature controlled and independent of other positions. This feature, unlike conventional aluminum block baths allows precise temperature adjustment. It has the same features as Model 390-6, however, it is for ASTM D665 only. Model 396-4B conforms to ASTM D3603. The advantage of the these aluminum baths over a liquid bath is the safety with the elimination of fumes and fire hazards if using oil as the bath medium.

Models 396-6A and 396-6B are identical to Models 396-4A and 396-4B, respectively, but with 6 test positions.

Model L636 is the polishing device specified by ASTM D665. It consists of a motor rotating the chuck at 1700 to 1800 rpm. The design chuck is as specified by the test method. A protective cover is provided over the motor.
